On this tour we spend our entire time in the county of Donegal. This is Ireland’s second largest county and is in my opinion the most spectacular county in Ireland.
By day we look at ancient sites like The Beltony Stone Circle. We see some wonderful sights ie. Slieve League Cliffs, Glencolumbkille, Glensesk Pass, etc. We drive through the wonderful towns and villages of Ardara, Glenties, Falcaragh, Dunfanaghy, Crolly, Dungloe etc.
We also go to Malin Head, which is Ireland’s most Northerly point. We take a leisurely drive each day and by night we listen to the best of Donegal’s famous traditional Music. We also have plenty of time for Shopping and Hiking.
A very important part of this tour is our Day in Tory Island. This is an island 40 minutes by boat from the mainland of Donegal. We are normally met by The King of Tory, Patsy Dan and by the dolphin in residence, if we are lucky.
This is indeed a wonderful tour but the nature of this county does not allow us to plan this trip in detail. We know where we will be sleeping every night. The rest is in the lap of the Gods and of course the weather.
