The August 2011 tour with David Francey and Craig Werth was pure delight. Beautiful country, warm, friendly people and we have made friends for life with our traveling companions. The music was always there to weave us together, whether we we just having fun or learning about the history surrounding us. A wonderful experience we hope to repeat!

Just returned from touring Irelend with Ronny Cox and friends. What a wonderful trip! Tom made the trip so interesting and enjoyable. All the history!!! And the music!!! The scenery, the bus, the people, the food, and let us not forget the drink…..were all special. It was laid back, fun, and everyone had a really great time. It was everything and more. I took lots of photos but my camera just could not do justice to the georgous lush, green countryside. It was truly a trip to remember! Thanks Tom for making it such a wonderful trip. And, thanks also go to Hugh for his spectactular driving ability on those narrow roads. (Glad I sat on the passenger side so I did not know just how close the other cars were!) I would highly recommend everyone to go to Ireland and, try to go with one of your tours if possible. You are the BEST!

This tour was a highlight of my lifetime. The staff — from guide to driver to behind-the-scenes support — were all brilliant. Everything was wonderfully organized and well-run. The experience was filled with educational opportunity; great humor, music and food; flexibility; top-notch choices for destinations; and more. Huge, heartfelt thanks to all who made this possible for us.

P.S. We all still wish Tom would seriously consider recording a new CD of all his songs. esp. Raglan Road. No one does it quite like Tom. I think Patrick Kavanaugh would be very pleased with Tom’s rendition! Thanks again for sharing all your personal thoughts, insights and talent with us, Tom. You have given us much “food for thought” indeed.

Tom and Chuck, Kevin and I would like to thank you both for a truly special Irish journey of wonder and discovery in all the unique destinations you picked for our great tour group earlier this month. The unbelievable music of all the musicians, esp. Chuck, Joe, Blackie, and Pauline. All the fascinating, and often profoundly sad, Irish history, food, spectacular vistas, great kindness, sheer fun, and of course the lilting accents everywhere we turned! You managed to immerse us all in more than a bit of Irish culture for a short but sweet time on your lovely island. It was a small pilgrimage of sorts for me personally as my grandmother’s family came from the Shannon/Limerick area over a century ago. Her name was Kirby. It was a moving moment indeed for me to realize I was walking on the same ground as my ancestors so long ago.

Thanks again for our very memorable Irish odyssey

What an amazing trip with 20 of my best friends. I didn’t know most of them before the trip but I couldn’t have picked a better group of people to travel with. Mick and Paddy were great guides and driver what fun!
One of the highlights was Paddy’s impromptu set dance lesson at our hotel in Dingle.
And music! With Joe Crookston (and family)leading us we found and generated wonderful music everywhere. The flexibility of the tour gave us an unscheduled opportunity to visit the Willie Clancy Festival in Miltown Malbay, what an experience that was. I will never forget the trip, the music or the people. I want all of my friends to experience one of your tours and I want to go with them all!

Tom, Jerry and I want to thank you for the wonderful Sept. 9-18, 2010 tour to Cos. Cork, Kerry, and Clare you provided our Johnsmith tour group! It was simply excellent!! We loved the smaller group on a bit of a slower pace with exposure to so many sites, sounds, and experiences we would never have found on our own. On those tiny narrow roads, we were completely at ease with Paddy’s driving! Our sincere thanks to you both! We are already recommending this trip to everyone we talk with…it was the greatest!

We returned from our Johnsmith tour with Tom and Paddy 5 days ago, but I still haven’t returned to Earth. It was unquestionably the best vacation in my life: folkloric, musical, social, historical, beautiful, relaxing (we even had steam baths in two of our hotels!), and fulfilling. We’ll be back!
